  • Webinar "Extended Producer Responsibility - Batteries" - English session

    The Betriber & Emwelt platform, in collaboration with the Environment Administration (AEV) and Ecobatterien, is organizing a webinar on the implementation of the extended producer responsibility (EPR) scheme specific to batteries.

The placing of batteries on the market is subject to an extended producer responsibility system, which organizes the collection and recycling—or reuse—of waste batteries. When companies place batteries on the market, they must join this system, which entails legal obligations they must comply with.

The entry into force of the European Regulation EU/2023/1542 on batteries and waste batteries brings changes to national procedures to ensure compliance with these obligations. For certain categories of batteries placed on the market, companies must comply by joining the Producer Responsibility Organisation Ecobatterien asbl ; for others, they may choose between individual approval or joining this approved organization.

This webinar is aimed at producers of all categories of batteries :

  • Portable;
  • LMT (batteries for light means of transport);
  • SLI (starter, lighting, and ignition batteries for vehicles);
  • Industrial;
  • Electric vehicle batteries.

The objectives of this webinar are to :

  • explain and present the EPR scheme for batteries;
  • clarify who is defined as a producer under this EPR scheme;
  • provide information on the related legal obligations;
  • present the compliance options available to battery producers.

Public
